Southwestern Rugs - The Southwestern style reflects an aesthetic rooted in the American west and Latin-America. Southwestern design draws from several regional, indigenous styles, and is particularly influenced by the art of Mexican and Native American peoples.

 Navajo motifs are prevalent, featuring ancient geometric patterns, usually featuring blocks of diamond shapes and zig-zagging lines. There is some crossover in the Zapotec style, with similar use of geometric patterns, but is distinguished by the use of figures, often animals or people attired in ceremonial dance garb, and by the use of finer, more colorful striping.

 The Anasazi were a race shrouded in mystery, a people who vanished, but left behind an indelible trove of cutural treasure. Anasazi design motifs are among the most recognizable in Southwestern design, featuring zig-zag block borders, heavy black-on-white line design and the popular figure of the flute-playing Kokopelli.
